ABOUT
Every solution starts with a conversation.
And every conversation starts with the courage to speak up.
The problem isn't the conversation.
It's what you tell yourself about having it.
In professional services, your culture, relationships and results all depend on the quality of your conversations.
The right ones build trust, enhance performance, and retain good people. The avoided ones quietly undermine all three. Ones like the partner everyone walks on eggshells around. The tension felt by all but named by no one. And behaviour that's been tolerated for so long it's become the norm.
Under every avoided conversation is fear:
that speaking up will make things worse.
Addressing performance, behaviour, or tension can feel risky. Say the wrong thing, and it escalates. Say nothing, and it compounds. And if you're the one addressing it, you still have to walk back in the room.
Those conversations used to scare me, too. I used to stay silent, fearing that speaking up would backfire.
Reading a book on assertive communication taught me to say what needed to be said with confidence and clarity. And the worry disappeared. This changed the focus of my work
My background is in mental health and social work, where I witnessed firsthand the cost of avoidance on people. Capable individuals burned out over conversations that never happened. So, I trained in behavioural coaching to ensure my clients don't have to learn that the hard way.
The work I do isn't about acting tough or being confrontational.
It's about helping you and your teams communicate with clarity, conviction, and courage - having the conversations that set expectations, address behaviour, and preserve your working relationships.
You stop firefighting and lead more effectively. Your team steps up. You retain capable people. And work stops feeling so hard - for everyone.
Who I Work With
For 27 years, I've worked across the UK and internationally with leaders and teams at every level in law, accountancy, and insurance. And the same patterns emerge.
Different firms. different sectors, but identical issues.
My approach is tailored and practical. Through group coaching, team development and one-on-one coaching sessions, we identify the specific conversations that aren't happening in your business, why they aren't happening, and build your capability to have them.
